Dear Mama: God’s Not Done With Your Storyਨਮੂਨਾ

The Son Who Lived (Peyton’s Story)
Dear Mama,
Sometimes the one who needs saving… is your child.
Peyton grew up around addiction. His mom was stuck in it, and while he longed for a connection with her, the relationship was strained, painful, and distant. Eventually, they had a falling out. He hoped for reconciliation, but she passed away before it ever came.
That kind of pain doesn’t just disappear—it leaves a mark.
Peyton tried to cope the only way he knew how: he numbed it. He chased escape through drugs, through darkness, through anything that might take away the ache. He overdosed five times. Died twice.
Yes—died.
But every time, he woke up. Every time, God said, "Not yet."
When Peyton finally surrendered, it wasn’t because he got it all together. It was because he realized Jesus didn’t come for the perfect. He came for him.
Luke 5:32 says, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” That was Peyton’s turning point—realizing that God wanted him even at his lowest.
Maybe you’re the mama with a son like Peyton.
Maybe you’ve cried into your pillow at night, praying that your child will survive the choices they’re making. Maybe you’ve begged God to intervene. Maybe you feel helpless watching them wander down a road that only leads to destruction.
Let this story remind you: Jesus sees them. And He’s not done with them, either.
The same God who raised Lazarus from the dead can raise your child out of addiction, out of despair, out of the grave they’re digging for themselves.
Peyton’s life didn’t just stop spiraling—it started climbing. In just three months, he was transformed. Clean. Alive. Full of purpose. And today? He’s pointing others to the same Jesus who refused to give up on him.
Mama, God hears your prayers.
They don’t bounce off the ceiling. They move heaven. Even when it looks hopeless, even when the story feels over—remember this:
If God can bring Peyton back from the dead—twice—He can reach your child, too.
And if you’re the one who feels like Peyton did—exhausted, ashamed, numb—know this:
You are loved by a God who came for people exactly like you. He’s not waiting for you to get clean before He calls you worthy. He’s calling you now.
Reflection:
- Are you praying for a son, daughter, or loved one who feels too far gone? What truth can you declare over them today?
- Have you ever struggled to believe God could forgive or restore you? What do Peyton’s story and Romans 5:8 say to that?
- What would it look like to trust God with someone else's redemption story?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for never giving up on us. Thank You for seeing our sons and daughters even in their darkest places. I lift up my child to You today. You know their heart, their struggle, and their pain. Call them back to life like You did with Peyton. And if I’m the one who needs revival, meet me right here. I believe You’re not finished with our story. In Your name, Amen.
