Following Jesusਨਮੂਨਾ

Desire for God’s Word
In a moment where Martha was busy preparing and serving, Mary chose to sit at the feet of Jesus. And Jesus affirmed her decision. He called it “the one thing needed.” What does that say about the value of God’s Word in our daily lives? We often fill our time with good things—work, service, activity—but miss the most important thing: simply being with Jesus and hearing His Word. A hunger for God’s Word isn’t automatic; it’s cultivated. It grows as we recognize our daily need for His truth, His wisdom, and His voice. Just as our physical bodies need nourishment, so do our souls. And the nourishment that comes from Scripture is what strengthens, transforms, and sustains us. If your appetite for the Bible has faded, don’t feel discouraged—ask the Holy Spirit to renew it in you. Start small, show up consistently, and let the Word take root.
Applications:
- Choose one short passage (e.g., a Psalm or Gospel paragraph) and read it slowly three times today, asking God to speak through it.
- Set a regular time this week—even 10 minutes daily—to read your Bible without distraction.
