One Another: Be Kindਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 4: Kindness in Community
Practising kindness within our communities is essential for fostering unity and love.
Ephesians 4:31-32 urges us to put away bitterness, wrath, and anger, and instead be kind, tender-hearted, and forgiving. Romans 7:24-25 reminds us of our struggle with sin and the deliverance we find in Jesus Christ. In our communities, kindness is a powerful antidote to division and strife. It creates an environment where forgiveness and understanding can flourish.
Reflect on how you can contribute to a culture of kindness in your community. Are there areas where you need to let go of bitterness or anger? Seek God's help in these areas, knowing that His Spirit empowers you to live out His love.
Today, commit to one act of kindness that can strengthen your community, whether it's a word of encouragement, a helping hand, or a gesture of forgiveness. Let your actions be a beacon of God's love, drawing others closer to Him.
Going Deeper
Theologically, practising kindness in community is an expression of the Body of Christ functioning in unity. As believers, we are called to live in harmony, reflecting the love and grace of Christ to one another. This unity is a testimony to the world of God's transformative power.
Reflect on John 13:34-35, where Jesus commands us to love one another as He has loved us, so that all people will know we are His disciples. How does practising kindness in your community serve as a witness to the love of Christ?
This plan is based on a sermon preached by Rev Jo Leutton.
