One Another: Be Kindਨਮੂਨਾ

Day 1: Kindness as a Fruit
Kindness is more than just a simple act of being nice; it is a profound expression of God's character within us. As we read in Galatians 5:22-23, kindness is a fruit of the Spirit, a natural outflow of a life deeply rooted in Christ.
Philippians 4:8 encourages us to dwell on whatever is true, honourable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable. Kindness embodies these virtues, calling us to reflect God's love in our interactions. Ephesians 4:32 further instructs us to be kind to one another, tender-hearted, and forgiving, just as God in Christ forgave us.
Today, reflect on how kindness is not merely an action but a lifestyle that mirrors the heart of God. Consider how you can cultivate this fruit in your life by staying close to Jesus, allowing His Spirit to transform your heart and actions.
As you go about your day, look for opportunities to express kindness, knowing that it is a powerful testimony of God's love to the world.
Going Deeper
Theologically, kindness as a fruit of the Spirit signifies the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life. Sanctification is the process by which we are made holy, set apart for God's purposes.
As we yield to the Spirit, our character is transformed to reflect Christ's nature. This transformation is not achieved by human effort but by divine grace. Reflect on 2 Corinthians 3:18, which speaks of being transformed into the image of Christ from one degree of glory to another.
How does this understanding of sanctification encourage you to rely on the Spirit for growth in kindness?
This plan is based on a sermon preached by Rev Jo Leutton.
