Egging You On! Beating Life's Difficulties & Cracking on With Godਨਮੂਨਾ

Egging you on!
To 'egg someone on' means to encourage someone to do something. It tends to mean encouragement to do something silly, but it can also mean encouragement to do something daring. For the next ten days I want to 'egg you on' to be bolder in your walk with God. The Christian life is not easy and we need to develop a daring spirit for our lives to be a great egg'xample of God's love. This plan will egg'xamine the lives of several biblical characters, egg'xplain what we can learn from them, and unpack the ways we can apply this to our lives. As you may have gathered, there will be some groan-worthy egg-related puns throughout - you'll wish I was yolkin!
Life is challenging for us all and we can easily find ourselves feeling a bit scrambled, like we might be cracking up, have egg on our face, or are one egg short of an omelette.
In the last year, I have faced challenges that have thrown up some difficult emotions. The tough times I've faced and the related feelings of anger and stress led to me launching an egg across our kitchen in a state of rage - I was genuinely shell-shocked by my behaviour! So the egg theme is particularly pertinent to my own life right now. In writing this plan, I want to redeem my use of the humble egg, using it for good purposes, rather than just linking it to my angry kitchen outburst.
When life gets tough my egg'xit plan away from the difficulties usually involves me withdrawing and coasting as I lack enthusiasm and fight. I want to resist this kind of egg'xistence, crack on boldly with Jesus, and face these tough times well. I'm determined to do all I can to egg myself and others on by remembering that the Bible is packed with people who, like us, egg'xperienced many difficult circumstances and emotions. These inspiring yet imperfect biblical believers are incredible role models that can egg us on, as we recognise the shared challenge of our humanity, but are also inspired by their grit, faith, and hope in God. For the next few days, we will draw encouragement from the lives of these biblical characters and find inspiration from how their difficulties were flipped with God's help.
I hope you have great egg'xpectations for this devotional plan :)
