Trading Shame and Striving for Wholeness in Christਨਮੂਨਾ

Identify the Lies and Meditate on the Truth
When you feel anxiety, shame, or pride threatening to overcome your heart, take a moment to pray and write down what lies you are believing. Be honest with yourself, even if the falsehoods that surface surprise you. Your heart is prone to deceive you, and the first step to fighting its lies is to expose them.
You cannot live in the freedom of Christ’s wholeness if you have not yet admitted the strongholds keeping you in shame and striving.
Meditate on the Truth
When you feel the accuser sneaking in, reminding you of your imperfections, you can fight back with “the sword of the Spirit—which is the word of God” (Eph. 6:17). Rather than lingering in the lies, you can meditate on scriptural truths (maybe even some you read in this book). You can hide them in your heart and keep them in your pocket so you can remind Satan and yourself of who God is, who you are, and what God is doing in you.
After listing the lies you are believing, write down corresponding Scriptures that shine the light of truth. When you’re tempted to believe that lie again, turn your eyes and heart back to the inventory of God’s truths. Study these verses, memorize them, and preach them over your life.
One by one, we can extinguish the flaming arrows of the enemy by guarding our hearts and minds with God’s truth.
