The Take Off: It's Bigger Than Youਨਮੂਨਾ

Walk It Like You Talk It
By now, you’ve seen that faith isn’t just something we say—it’s something we live. It’s not just about what’s in our bio, what we post, or the Christian t-shirts we wear. It’s about how we walk out our faith every day. Our lives are meant to reflect Jesus because we are His ambassadors.
An ambassador represents a person or country in a foreign land. As Christians, we represent God here on earth. How we act, speak, and treat others should reflect His character. If we claim to follow Jesus but our lives don’t reflect Him, it can confuse and even make others stumble in their faith.
Consider the story of the fig tree in Mark 11:12-14. Jesus saw a fig tree from a distance; although it had leaves, it did not bear any fruit. He cursed it because it was not producing what it was meant to produce. This serves as a powerful reminder: Fruit is not just about claiming to be Christians; it involves embodying Christ's characteristics, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). If we claim to be Christians but do not reflect those traits, we are like the fig tree. We cannot just look the part; we must live it out.
It’s like planting an apple seed but growing an orange tree. If you plant an apple seed, you expect apples, not oranges. If we’re planted in God’s Word, our lives should produce God’s fruit—His characteristics. Otherwise, people will question whether God’s Word is truly in us.
The impact of this is huge. God wants us to bear fruit; if we don’t, it can confuse others. When we act hypocritically—saying one thing and doing another—we can cause people to stumble and turn away from the faith. It’s not just about us; it’s about how we impact those around us.
When we live authentically and produce God’s fruit, we point others to Jesus. We are showing the world what it looks like to follow Christ. So, ask yourself: What kind of fruit am I bearing today? Are my actions reflecting the love and truth of Jesus?
Reflection Question:
What fruit is your life producing right now? How can your actions align with what you profess to believe?
Prayer:
God, thank You for calling me to be Your ambassador. Help me live in a way that reflects Your love and truth to everyone around me. Please show me where I need to grow and help me bear good fruit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
