Video Study | Experience Jesus. Really. By John Eldredgeਨਮੂਨਾ

What Children and Mystics Know
We’ve been discipled by the Internet. We live at a breakneck pace, consuming more information than we can process. We demand instant answers, but has it made us wiser? Stronger? More at peace? Hardly. We’re more distracted, anxious, and weary than ever.
Jesus offers a different way—one that is beautifully counterintuitive. Become like little children.
Children aren’t skeptics. They don’t need all the answers to trust. They live with wonder, open-hearted to the world around them. Jesus invites us to rediscover that childlike posture, where we experience His presence daily—not just occasionally or in moments of crisis.
This is the life we were meant for. Like amphibians, created for both water and land, we were made to live in two realities—the natural and the spiritual. Most of us, though, have been living as if the unseen world doesn’t exist. No wonder our souls feel thin.
The cure? Union with God. A life immersed in His presence. When we slow down, turn off the noise, and attune ourselves to Him, we begin to experience God, not just believe in Him.
It’s time to come home.
Reflect
- A Christian mystic is simply someone who regularly experiences God. Based on that, would you consider yourself one? Why or why not?
- We consume endless media at a relentless pace. How do you think this has affected your soul over time?
- With instant access to answers, how has your patience for mystery and waiting on God changed?
- “It’s not that we’ve done something wrong. It’s that something wrong has been done to us.” How does this statement affect your perspective on being a Disciple of the Internet?
- Read Matthew 18:1–10. Why do you think adults struggle to embrace childlike wonder, humility, and trust?
About this Plan

In this five-part video series (each ~20 minutes), John Eldredge invites you on a journey—not to gain more knowledge, but to experience Jesus in a way that transforms your everyday life. We live in a world that constantly pulls us away from the life we were made for, bombarding us with noise, distractions, and anxiety. But Jesus offers something radically different—refuge, strength, and wonder through daily encounters with Him. Through these sessions, you’ll rediscover the reality of God’s presence, learn to take shelter in Him, and step into the deeper life you were created for.
