GUARDING YOUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH

Your spirit man’s health determines your ability to walk successfully in your Christian journey. Proverbs 4:23 counsels, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” This scripture highlights the necessity of diligently guarding your inner man, your spirit, because it determines the course of your life.

Just as your physical body needs protection against harmful elements, your spirit requires safeguarding from influences that hinder your growth and effectiveness. Exposure to negative thoughts, unwholesome conversations, and ungodly environments weakens your spiritual sensitivity and reduces your effectiveness in fulfilling your divine purpose.

2 Corinthians 7:1 instructs us clearly: “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” Protecting your spirit involves intentionally surrounding yourself with godly influences, spiritual nourishment, and maintaining purity in thoughts and actions.

Make deliberate choices daily to guard your spiritual health. Commit to engaging with people, activities, and content that strengthen rather than diminish your spiritual life. As you diligently protect your inner man, you will become increasingly sensitive to the Holy Spirit, enabling you to walk victoriously in every circumstance.
