The Good News and the Bad Newsਨਮੂਨਾ

A Free Gift
We ended yesterday reading that the gift of God is eternal life. This is good news, right? But to appreciate the GOOD news, we need to look at the BAD news.
What happened way back in the beginning, in the Garden of Eden, affects us now! Adam was the representative for all humans and he and Eve stumbled on their journey.
We are going to look at two verses in Romans 5 and both verses can be split to have a part A and part B. We will start by looking at part A of both verses.
Romans 5
18a Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation…
19a For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners…
This is definitely NOT good news. So maybe don’t use these two verses if you are trying to encourage someone! We may think a bit badly of poor Adam and Eve, but really, they were innocent, perfect beings in a perfect land with no form for evil. Then they were tricked because they were possibly a bit naïve.
However, from this event, we ALL have to live with the fact that our lives aren’t perfect and that death has become a thing. We have a problem.
It is nice to end with some good news, so let’s look at part B of those two verses as it comes with the solution to the problem.
Romans 5
18b "...even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life."
19b "...so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous."
Wow! Phew!
So maybe we can use these two verses to encourage someone after all!
In the NKJV, it says in verse 18 "...even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men."
Before, the problem was death. Then Jesus came to give us the FREE GIFT ending in EVERLASTING LIFE. And if we are receiving EVERLASTING LIFE, then there is a promise there that the world can’t become like it is now ever again.
Phew again!
Write "free gift" on your hand and remember this good news as you go through your day.
