Fast 40: Practicing the Ancient Spiritual Discipline of Lentਨਮੂਨਾ

Strength is the great weakness of man, but weakness is the great strength of God.
When Christ came to earth, He deliberately became weak. He was tired at night, hungry during the day, and sore from work. Imagine God being tired and hungry and sore! And those weaknesses meant He would be vulnerable to suffering and even death. He was, in that respect, exactly like us.
But what we see in the weakness of Christ was actually the grace of God working through Him—grace to lead the disciples, grace to do miracles, grace to heal, grace to preach, grace to love, grace to suffer.
Scripture says that Christ came “full of grace” (John 1:14). The Father’s strength was revealed through the Son’s weakness. So bring your weakness to God. Come to the end of your strength, the end of your own effort, the end of yourself, because when you do, you will come to the beginning of grace.
