Fast 40: Practicing the Ancient Spiritual Discipline of Lentਨਮੂਨਾ

From this passage, we learn four crucial truths about the demonic. First, demons are strong. They have “powers,” and Scripture warns, “Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). If demons were weak, they wouldn’t be able to destroy lives.
Second, demons are evil. They are “rulers of darkness,” influencing people toward wickedness. Scripture says, “As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him” (John 13:27). They infest homes, oppress minds, and even possess bodies.
Third, demons are cunning. While they lack wisdom, they are highly strategic, twisting truth for their advantage. As C.S. Lewis portrayed in The Screwtape Letters, they will try anything to destroy souls.
Lastly, demons are numerous—an organized army of wickedness. Hell was created for them, not us, but if we do not resist, we risk joining them.
