Elevate: Raising the Bar for Conversations About Creating Contentਨਮੂਨਾ

Social media today has more influence than just about anything else. People are using it for everything, like trying to navigate what the most popular thing at that moment is, figuring out how to gain more followers, or deciding whether to wear socks with sandals. I think we can often underestimate the influence we have when it comes to the content that we create and share online. There are always people looking at the posts that we share on social media. It’s easy for us to want to seek the approval of people in the things we post. However, in some circumstances, taking that path could lead to us not just hurting others but ourselves as well.
In Colossians, Paul encourages us to willingly work for God in everything that we do. That even means in the things we post on social media! The things we share must be kind to ourselves and others. As followers of Jesus, we should work to honor Him in everything we do by trying to be like Him!
So, every time you get ready to share something on social media, ask yourself these two things: Is it kind to me and others? And does this honor God?
