Reading With the People of God #9 - Faithfulnessਨਮੂਨਾ

Memorization Challenge:
13 And now behold the king whom you have chosen, for whom you have asked; behold, the Lord has set a king over you. 14 If you will fear the Lord and serve him and obey his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, and if both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the Lord your God, it will be well.- Samuel 12:13-14
Primer:
Today’s readings reveal the tension between human desires and God's faithfulness. Israel demands a king, rejecting God as their ruler, yet God remains faithful to His covenant with them. In the Gospel, Jesus offers Himself as the bread of life, faithfully meeting the deepest needs of the crowd even when they misunderstand His mission. These passages challenge us to examine whether we trust in God’s faithfulness or seek fulfillment elsewhere.
Question to reflect on: How are you trusting in God’s faithfulness to meet your deepest needs instead of seeking satisfaction in lesser things?
