He Is...Joy
The angels didn’t announce Jesus’ birth to those with high status in society, but to lowly shepherds out in the fields late at night. Their message? They had good news that would bring great joy to all people—every nation, tribe, and tongue. Jesus came for you and me. Psalm 16:11 says that the fullness of joy is found in the presence of the Lord. Like the shepherds, let’s joyfully share the good news of Jesus with everyone around us!
Journal Prompt:
- Describe the difference between happiness and joy. What are some things that bring you joy?
- How can joy help you through tough situations in life?

About this Plan

We all know how easy it is to get swept up in Christmas planning, shopping, decorating, and countless gatherings. These things are exciting and festive, but they can sometimes pull us away from what Christmas is truly about—the arrival of Emmanuel, “God with us.” The Good News is that, in a world filled with so much uncertainty, He is our Hope. He is our Love. He is our Peace, our Joy, our Light. This is the gift of Christmas, for each and every one of us.
