Daily Bible Reading—March 2024, God’s Guiding Word: Prayerਨਮੂਨਾ

March 15
Introduction
Esther 9:1–19: In today’s reading, the Jews destroy their enemies, along with Haman’s ten sons, in the capital city, Susa, and throughout all the provinces.
Today’s Key Verse: Esther 9:16a
The Jews in the provinces also organized and defended themselves.
Reflect
What did Esther ask the king to do with the bodies of Haman’s sons? What message would such a public display have conveyed? Verse 15 records that the Jews killed their enemies but “did no looting,” an indication that they were fighting for survival and not for material gain. What instances can you identify of people today who are struggling to survive?
Pray
God of grace and mercy, you alone are God and worthy of praise. You are indeed mighty, and I am in awe of your wondrous deeds. Thank you, Lord God, for your saving love. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Esther 9:20–32: The festival of Purim is celebrated.
