In the face of adversity, resilience is born. Unfortunately, this means we will have to suffer through some tough times. No one likes to experience loss, trauma, or heartache, but they are a part of life. As you mature spiritually, the lessons and trials will not grow easier, but they may look different according to your spiritual maturity. Adversity grows our faith in God’s ability to help us through difficulties. We are not alone in our struggles because He promised not to leave us or turn away from us.

Enduring challenging times also allows us to help others when they go through life challenges. We become ambassadors of the hope that was born in us. People will be able to see the resilience in the struggle as we come out on the other side. Once you realize that the battle is not just for you, it is also for others, you begin to see through a different lens. Your testimony is more powerful when you endure trials with an attitude of faith no matter what. Faith, when you can’t see the outcome, is genuine faith. Faith, when you don’t know all the answers, is true faith. Don’t be fooled by the world’s definition of faith, which says you can go through hardships if you are guaranteed the outcome that you want. Things may not happen the way or at the time you want. Remember that your problems can lead to growth, character development, and hope that does not disappoint.

Heavenly Father, grant me the strength to endure hardships and the wisdom to grow in adversity. May my character be molded by Your grace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
