It’s easy to say the wrong thing sometimes. When we’re mad, we say the angry thing. When we’re upset, we say the rude thing. When we want to hurt someone’s feelings, we say the hurtful thing. Even though we know we shouldn’t, sometimes it’s just easier to let the harsh words fly out of our mouths. But the writer of Proverbs reminds us that the better choice is wisdom. When we’re mad, frustrated, angry, or hurt, we can still choose to be wise with our words. Though it may take some practice, using wise words in any conversation has the power to change the outcome.
Today, ask God to help you use your words wisely this week.
