You know that feeling when a friend texts you unexpectedly? Or when someone you have a crush on texts you asking to hang out? These messages feel good because it communicates that someone wants to know us. While God doesn’t send text messages, there are plenty of promises that remind us we matter.
We can see God’s promises of faithfulness throughout the Old Testament, like in today’s passage. Then in the New Testament, we see people living and sharing their experience of these promises! When we learn God’s promises and read the promises that have been fulfilled, we can trust God’s heart for us. We’ve been promised a life full of purpose and can learn from many people in the Bible who were given the same promise.
Today, focus on his promise, “I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Is trusting God’s promises easy or difficult for you? Reflect on your response in prayer.
