Voicesਨਮੂਨਾ

Just because we listen to God’s voice, there is no guarantee that the other voices in our lives will go away. In fact, the closer we get to God, the louder the other voices seem to get, too, trying to steer us away from God’s best for us.
The way to continue to listen to God’s voice above all others is to learn what his voice sounds like so that we can always recognize it. It’s like being in a crowded room but hearing one of your friends call your name: even though other people are surrounding you, you recognize your friend because you know their voice.
The same thing happens to us when we get used to listening to God’s voice. There can be many other voices around us, but we will recognize it when we hear God’s voice and know that he is speaking right to us. When all the voices around us are trying to tell us what to do, where to go, or who to listen to, we will know the one voice of truth coming from God is the one to follow.
Challenge: Make two lists today, comparing what the voice of our good shepherd, Jesus, sounds like compared to the voices in the world. Here are some ideas to get you started: Our good shepherd tells us we’re enough. The world tells us we’ll never be good enough compared to others.
