The Road Less Traveled - a Lent Journey for Teensਨਮੂਨਾ

Disordered Attachments
As you get to know your desires, you will realize you have many of them, but some are stronger than others. Even these strong desires will change from time to time.
A desire in itself is not wrong, but sometimes we get obsessive about our desires, and then it becomes harmful. It can start to rule our lives. We try to get more out of the desire than it is supposed to give us. We don’t necessarily have to get rid of an unhealthy desire like this; we need to reorder our desires. When God is the desire of our hearts, He overcomes all our other desires.
Exercise:
Take a look at your desires and judge which of them are dominant. Talk to Jesus about your dominant desires and confess if some of them have started to rule your life.
Prayer:
Create in me a pure heart Jesus.

About this Plan

Lent is where we walk with Jesus for 40 days. We are going to look at the Beatitudes of Jesus. These are sayings from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. We live in a world filled with uncertainty, fear and anxiety. The beatitudes invite us to live in a new way in this world of ours. Together, we are going to explore new ways to live life.
