Love God Greatly - You Are Forgivenਨਮੂਨਾ

SOAP – Romans 6:6-7
Sin is not removed from a Christian on her day of salvation, but she is removed from sin. Sin no longer has the power to defeat a Christian or hold her captive. This does not mean that Christians will no longer sin, but the power of sin has been removed. The Holy Spirit, living within a Christian, wars against the believer’s inclination to sin or live a lifestyle of sin.
What if a Christian tries to return to a lifestyle of sin? In the life of a Christian, we will sin, but sin will not feel the same. Conviction by the Holy Spirit will come. The enjoyment will not be the same. If one is able to continue in a lifestyle of sin without any conviction or urging of the Holy Spirit, it is possible that she has not truly surrendered her life to Christ.
Father God, I thank You for the assurance that I am no longer a slave to sin. When I doubt my power over sin, remind me that Your promises stand and I cannot undo anything You have already done. Help me to move forward in holiness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
