Love God Greatly - Galatians

DAY 24 OF 40

Paul wonders how the Galatians who have come to know God as their Father would return the bondage of religious rules and revert back to their former selves. It is better for a believer to have not known Jesus at all, rather than for that person to have experienced the goodness of God and the freedom that He offers, yet choose to go back to the sins she was delivered from. That person will be held more accountable by God, because she chose to reject Him after knowing Him intimately. What habitual sin has you tempted to return to the sin you were delivered from? Will you pray today and ask God to move swiftly against the attack? Father God, You have cloaked me in the righteousness of Your Son, Jesus. I thank You for that precious gift. Take captive any thoughts of returning to my former self and my former sins. Overflow me with the desire to confess my sins quickly to You so that You may restore me, strengthen me, and develop me. Remind me daily that You pursued me, because You desired an intimate relationship with me, so I don't have to fear You, run from You, or return to who I was before I knew You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly - Galatians

We are going to experience Paul’s exhortation to the young Christians in Galatia (also meant for us) telling them that all that is necessary – all they need – is the gospel… the good news. Tim Keller says, “The gospel – the message that we are more wicked than we ever dared believe, but more loved and accepted in Christ than we ever dared hope – creates a radical new dynamic for personal growth, for obedience, for love.” And that makes our hearts sing! Galatians summarizes the gospel and what it means to our hearts. This, friends, is life changing.
