Every Day With God

Dag 4 van 5

Brokenness is the cost of being called and chosen by God. Paul tells us in Romans 8:17 that we as co-heirs with Christ, share in His sufferings in order to share in His glory . We can look at the life of Christ as an example of what it is to submit to the plan of God both in glory and suffering. Jesus performed many miracles and was followed by thousands. Just days before he was crucified, the entire town sang Hosanna as he journeyed through the streets. Then, He was subjected to the worse kind of pain and suffering through crucifixion in order to fulfill his calling. This is our greatest example of suffering through submission. Romans 8:17 teaches us that if we want to have the impact Jesus had in presence, power, and performance of miracles in our lifetime, we must also be willing to suffer as Christ did. Some of us wonder if God causes bad things to happen in our lives. We may even question if the turmoil we are experiencing is because He’s trying to teach us something. Because of His word, we can be confident that whatever He permits, He plans to use . He takes all the things we have going on in our lives and works them together for our good and His glory! ( Romans 8:28 ) Knowing this, we can lean into the suffering and the breaking. John 16:33 encourages us to know that Jesus overcame the world . God gave us the same grace to overcome everything we face. Embrace the breaking, relinquish your control, and receive his strength so you can forge ahead into the purpose God has chosen for you.
