In the WordVoorbeeld

Week 1, Day 2
Read Genesis 2
Think about: Why does God put Adam in the Garden of Eden? (Genesis 2:15)
Think about: What is the one thing God commands Adam not to do? (Genesis 2:16)
Think about: What institution does God establish between a man and a woman? (Genesis 2:18-24) Is this contradictory to what is practiced in today’s society?
From the first words in Genesis 1:1 ... “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” ... the story unfolds. And, as these first words illustrate, it’s a story about God and His creation.
Once the setting is formed — literally, Earth is formed — God, Satan, and many other heroic and villainous characters are introduced. It doesn’t take long for the problem of sin to show up, threatening to eternally separate creation (that’s us!) from God. So God works out a plan to reunite us with Him.
