We need him to rescue us, to gather us, to bring us home, and give us honour and praise. Jesus was that Mighty Warrior, but rather than seeking out unnecessary battles, He fought all of our battles on the Cross and with his death and resurrection declared victory over all sin and death. It is so comforting to know that Jesus has been everything we could not be and fought every battle we could not fight.
