Discover how to rise up and stand firm in the face of trials.

When you read, do you notice a word, verse, or passage that needs more clarity? Make a note of it and consider doing a little research.
Read and Write:
* How many references to suffering does this passage have?
* What is the main message of this passage? Write out a summary.
Reflect:
* Why should fiery trials not surprise us?
* Under what circumstances does Peter use these words: rejoice, joy, blessed/glorify, and praise?
* What reasons for rejoicing and praise does Peter give?
* What do you think “the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you” means? (See John 14:16-19.)
