Furiousनमूना

The Gospel Is Not Up for Negotiation
Paul doesn’t ease into his letter—he erupts. Why? Because the Galatians were abandoning the gospel of grace for a different “gospel” that was really no gospel at all. What made him so furious wasn’t sin—it was spiritual self-sufficiency. It was believers, once set free by the Spirit, turning back to works of the law.
Paul knows what’s at stake. If grace is negotiable, the cross is meaningless. The gospel isn’t advice; it’s a divine rescue mission. You don’t edit a rescue plan—you follow it. And any “Jesus plus” gospel (Jesus plus rules, plus traditions, plus performance) is a lie that enslaves.
So Paul draws a line in the sand. Even if an angel preaches something different, reject it. Because the good news isn’t good if it can be earned. This gospel is shocking in its simplicity and offensive in its power. But that’s exactly why it works.
Reflection Questions:
- Have I been tempted to earn what God already gave me freely?
- Are there areas where I’ve added “requirements” to the gospel—for myself or others?
Prayer:
Jesus, I receive Your gospel again today—not by works, but by grace. Forgive me for trying to prove what You already approved. Help me walk in the freedom of the cross and resist every counterfeit. Amen.
