Sae, than, I am content in weaknesses, in skaithins, in necessities, in persecutions, in stretts — on behauf oʼ Christ; for whan I mysel am weak, than am I stieve!

For eʼen soud I be fain to boast, I sanna be a fule; for I wull speak truth. But I lat be, that nae ane soud think oʼ me aboon what he sees me to be, or hears frae me. And whaur‐for, least by the unco greatness oʼ the revelation I soud be ower muckle upliftit, thar was giʼen to me a stog iʼ the flesh, a messenger oʼ Sautan that he micht baff me.
