Day 12 – The Battle Between the Wildfire and the Peacefire

Devotional

Every believer faces a daily spiritual battle—the war between the wildfire of the flesh and the Peacefire of the Spirit. Born into the earthly kingdom, we follow our natural desires, but when we are born again in Christ, we become citizens of the heavenly kingdom, ruled by love, grace, and faith. Yet this new life begins with spiritual infancy and requires intentional growth. The war continues: our desires are pulled between the flesh, which seeks to dominate and control, and the Spirit, who longs to produce in us love, joy, peace, and all the fruit of Christ. Our choices in conflict reveal which kingdom is ruling our hearts. The path to victory is relentless reliance on Jesus—through prayer, Scripture, godly counsel, and continual submission to the Holy Spirit.

In the conflict you are facing, are you being led by the wildfire of the flesh or the Peacefire of the Spirit? What fruit is being revealed?

Prayer:
Lord, I recognize the war within me. I don’t want to be ruled by my old desires. Teach me to walk by Your Spirit, to choose faith over fear, peace over control, and love over selfishness. When I fall, help me run back to You. Keep me near the Peacefire. Amen.
