Leadership is essential in every area of life: families, friendships, workplaces, and communities all need someone to guide them. True leadership is not about domination, but about purpose, vision, and the ability to influence others toward a common goal. Leadership is about uniting people and helping them.

Jesus is the ultimate example of leadership. In John 15, He defines leadership as a relationship, not a command. He calls us to "abide" in Him, to remain connected to Him, for apart from Him, we can do nothing. Jesus didn’t lead with arrogance or demand respect; He led with humility, vision, and love. His leadership was rooted in service, as He washed His disciples' feet and gave His life for them. His leadership was relational and empowering, always lifting others up while guiding them toward God’s purpose.

A true leader, like Jesus, doesn’t just give orders; He casts a vision, empowers others, and models what it means to follow. He is willing to go first, to serve, and to sacrifice for the good of the people he leads. Jesus didn't just talk about leadership; He showed it by loving, serving, teaching, and praying for His disciples. He made them partners in His mission, inviting them to be part of something bigger than themselves.

As men, we are called to lead in the same way, through relationship, service, and humility. We are to lead our families, friends, and communities with vision, integrity, and a heart that reflects Christ. Our leadership should empower others, not for our glory, but for God's Kingdom.

Challenge

This week, take one step to lead like Jesus, whether in your family, work, or friendships. Cast vision, serve those you lead, and pray for them.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for being the perfect leader. Help me lead with humility, love, and vision. Give me the strength to serve others and the courage to guide them toward Your purpose. May my leadership reflect Your heart. Amen.

The Man We Needed

Jesus, the Leader, called us to follow Him, to serve, and to lead with love and humility. He gave us purpose, not just position. Now, by God’s grace, it’s your turn.

Be the man they need.
