What’s Your Game Plan for the Second Half? – Day 23

Larry Freed, OMS Philippines

Joshua 14:10-12 (ESV)

“And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, just as he said, these forty-five years … And now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old. I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming. So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day, for you heard on that day how the Anakim were there, with great fortified cities. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out just as the Lord said.”

Great sports teams enter the locker room at halftime and come out with a plan to win the game in the second half. What’s your game plan for the second half of your life? In the first half of our lives, we tend to focus on achieving success. In the second half, our focus shifts to significance, leaving a lasting legacy, doing something meaningful, and accomplishing what we have always wanted to do in life. What is your winning plan? What legacy is God calling you to leave to help fulfill his Great Commission: making disciples of all nations? Like Caleb in Joshua 14, what hill is God calling you to take? What desire, drive, or fight has he placed in your heart with the necessary skills in your hands? No matter what your age, do not hesitate to follow his call.
