Devotional:

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Our greatest battles are often not against people or circumstances, but in our minds. Fear, doubt, insecurity, and lies from the enemy try to take root in our hearts, shaping how we see ourselves and the world. But Paul reminds us that as believers, we are engaged in spiritual warfare, and our weapons are not of this world—they are powerful through God.

One of the strongest weapons we have is the ability to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. This means filtering our thoughts through His truth, rejecting anything that contradicts His Word. When fear whispers that we are alone, we declare God’s promise that He is always with us (Deuteronomy 31:6). When the enemy says we are unworthy, we stand firm in the truth that we are chosen and loved (1 Peter 2:9).

Victory begins in the mind. As we fill ourselves with Scripture and seek God daily, we gain strength to tear down lies and replace them with His truth.

Prayer:

Ask God to help you recognize thoughts that do not align with His truth. Pray for strength to take them captive and replace them with His promises. Ask for wisdom to use spiritual weapons—prayer, Scripture, and faith—to fight against negativity and fear, walking in the freedom He has given you.

Find & Follow Jesus, Quarter 2

Follow our quarterly plans to read through the entire Bible in one year, plus a bonus round through the Gospels and Romans. Each day, we encourage you to read the sections from both the Old Testament and the New Testament, and then set aside some time to write down, journal, or memorize the first posted verse from each day. Every week we provide an additional devotional for further discussion on that week's themes.
