Learning You: The Love That Staysಮಾದರಿ

There’s a kind of love that doesn’t quit—the love that stays when it would be easier to walk away. It’s the love of a father who sees his child trapped in pain, confusion, or shame and says, “I’m not leaving.”
In Learning You, there’s a moment when Ty presses his hand against a window—separated from his son Elijah—promising, “I’m going to fix this.” That image mirrors God’s heart toward us. Even when we can’t feel Him, He’s pressing His hand against the glass of our circumstances, whispering, “I’m here. I haven’t left.”
When Jesus told the story of the prodigal son, He showed us what the Father’s love looks like. It runs toward us, not away. It embraces before it explains. It stays when it hurts. That’s the love we see on the cross—Jesus refusing to walk away, even when it meant suffering.
Maybe you’ve been praying for someone who hasn’t changed—or maybe you are the one who’s wandered. Either way, the Father is still running toward you. His love hasn’t run out.
Reflect:
Who in your life needs to experience the love that stays?
Where have you been tempted to give up?
Prayer:
God, thank You for being the Father who stays. When I’ve run away, You’ve chased after me. Teach me to love like You do—to stay when it’s hard, to forgive when it hurts, and to trust that Your love never gives up. Amen.
