What Are You Creating With Your Words?

From the very beginning, God spoke—and it happened! God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. His Word brought creation into being.

The Bible teaches that we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), and therefore we, too, are called to create with our words.

Romans 4:17 (NKJV) says that God “calls those things which do not exist as though they did.”

In other words, our words bring God’s invisible promises into visible reality. When we speak words that align with God’s Word, we’re planting seeds that will bear fruit in our lives.

The opposite is also true: when we speak words of fear, doubt, or unbelief, we reinforce the very things that try to hold us captive.

James warns us: “Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.” (James 3:10 - NKJV). Our tongues can build up, but they can also tear down.

Think about it: how would your life change if you proclaimed God’s truth every day instead of doubt?

Romans 4:17 (NKJV) shows us that God “calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” We can learn to do the same: not speaking out of fear or circumstances, but out of God’s truth. That’s why it’s so important to know what God’s Word says—not just to read it but also to speak it out loud!

Reflection:

  • How can you replace one negative statement today with a declaration of faith?
  • Which promises of God can you speak to your situation today?
