Don’t Bring Flesh to a Spirit Fight

The fight is rigged for God to get the glory, which happens when we trust in Him despite our circumstances or even our own shortcomings. But to be clear, we’re still in a fight. After Goliath fell, the Philistines still waged war. Now that you’re in the fight, fight well.

David did not fight Goliath in traditional armor because this was not a traditional fight. This was a battle for God’s glory. So what did David do? He made sure that he promoted and revered God’s glory.

Centuries earlier, the Israelites faced a battle at Jericho. But instead of strategizing, they prayed and God gave them special instructions to march around the city for 6 days and on the last day, march around 7 times and shout. Fighting this way is neither strategic nor tactical, but the Israelites are obedient and faithful.

And that’s your real weapon, faith. Faith that obeys. Faith that worships. Faith that trusts. Faith that’s anchored to the Faithful One, Jesus. “For without faith, it is impossible to please God”

David fought, not just Goliath, but all of the Philistines in faith. He had faith, that the Lord would win the battle, and his role was to show up and fight like he believed that to be true.
