Dear Church, Truth in Loveಮಾದರಿ

Day 3: Dear Church, Have the Courage to Be Different
Did you know that 30 years ago, the average person saw about 500 ads a day? Today, thanks to social media, that number has risen to 6,000–10,000 messages daily. No wonder life feels so noisy.
And when it comes to diversity and reconciliation—a topic that already stirs emotions—the noise gets even louder. There’s an agenda that pushes some to shout in anger, while pressuring others to retreat into silence.
But as mentioned yesterday, as followers of Christ, we have another option: truth in reconciliation. Reconciliation is at the heart of the gospel. Jesus died to reconcile us to the Father, and through Him, to one another. That doesn’t mean we all become the same. It means the differences that once divided us are overcome by His blood. Here’s the key point—contrary to common belief, reconciliation does not require assimilation. In fact, it’s the opposite. It’s a bold step of faith that embraces the cultural differences God intentionally designed, showing the beauty of His creativity.
Remember my story from Day 1? It’s why microaggressions, implicit bias, language that belittles, or actions that dominate have no place in the body of Christ. They are the very opposite of reconciliation. Peacemaking is hard work. It often requires us to go against the current of culture, but it is holy work.
In Matthew 5:9, Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” When we choose that path, even in a noisy world, we look most like Him, and in the middle of all the noise, our lives proclaim a better option.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reconciling me to Yourself. Help me to live as a peacemaker in a world filled with noise. Give me the courage to choose peace, even when it’s not easy. Amen.

In every generation, the Church has faced defining challenges. Today, one of the most urgent is diversity and reconciliation—how we see one another, how we work together, and how we live as the body of Christ in a politically-charged and divided world. Dear Church offers five days of encouragement for leaders, written in the spirit of Paul’s letters: direct, heartfelt, and timely. Through truth-telling, courage, hard work, and rest, this plan invites you to reflect and act so the Church can reflect the unity of heaven here on earth.
