Jesus sends his disciples across the lake. It's a tough crossing tonight – the wind is against them. In the early morning, Jesus makes his own unique way across the lake. His appearance sends the disciples into a flurry of terrified activity. Jesus calls through the wind - ‘Don’t be scared – it’s just me.’
Peter wants in on the action, so having gained Jesus’ approval, he scrambles over the side. The wind whips up and Peter’s bravado is lost. In response to Peter’s cry for help, Jesus extends his hand and saves Peter before he sinks too far.
‘Oh Peter, why did you doubt?’
