The God of Generosity

From His glorious, foundational acts of creation to the multitudinous daily provisions with which He sustains His creatures, God demonstrates awesome, abundant generosity. As we consider Jesus and glimpse His overflowing love and mercy, He stirs our hearts to show generosity, too. We honour our generous God when we selflessly share His provision with those in need. And when we shrink from sharing and adopt a defensive, ungenerous attitude, we dishonour His nature.

Prayer: Father, thank you for your beautiful creation, for my life, for the daily mercies you give. Forgive me for the times I have hardened my heart. Fill me with overflowing gratitude and generosity for all of your gifts. Move me to share with others with generous abandon and a spirit of love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
