Launching a Business God’s Way: Part III
After my son was diagnosed with autism, a group of parents and I decided to start a school for children with special needs. Some professionals told us we could serve learning disabilities or autism, but we couldn’t serve both.
As parents we fought that conclusion. It took several months, but eventually we concluded the professionals were right.
We developed a school for learning disabilities, and several of our children were never able to attend. That school has since helped thousands of children.
Matthew 6:24 teaches, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other.” (NIV)
Just as we are called to only serve the Lord, in business you can’t serve multiple niches. Having divided interests usually results in not serving anyone well.
When starting a business, determine who you will serve. Your business needs to have a focused audience.
