Day 1: The Need for Understanding

Scripture: Proverbs 4:7 - "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding."

Reflection:

Wisdom begins with understanding. This principle applies to all areas of life, but it is especially crucial when it comes to understanding God's Word. To interpret Scripture accurately, we must be willing to invest time and effort into learning the principles of hermeneutics. This investment is not just an intellectual exercise; it is a spiritual pursuit that deepens our relationship with God and equips us to live out our faith more effectively.

Understanding Scripture requires humility and a teachable spirit. We acknowledge that we do not have all the answers and that we need God's guidance to interpret His Word correctly. We approach the Bible with a desire to learn and grow, recognizing that it is a living and active word that speaks to our hearts and minds.
