King & Kingdomsಮಾದರಿ

Something striking in this story, is not only the result of Solomon’s conversation with the Lord, but the posture of his heart at the beginning of this conversation. In verse 7, Solomon describes how he is, “just a youth with no experience in leadership.” And while he might have been somewhat young, what Solomon is really describing here is his posture before the Lord. A posture of great humility.
He understands that the task set before him is much too great for him, he must rely on God. Sometimes the Lord gives us things that are too great for us, things that are too much for us to handle. And he does this to show us that while it might be too much for us, it is never too great for him.
Think it Over: What things in your life are too much for you to handle today? Would you humbly ask God to take control?
