May 10 – Scripture for Doctrine
Doctrine refers to established truth, the foundational teachings that define belief. Scripture provides the basis for all sound doctrine. It reveals what is true about God, man, salvation, and life. Without Scripture, doctrine cannot be properly formed.
This matters because belief shapes behaviour. What a person believes will eventually influence how they live. Sound doctrine produces stability, clarity, and consistency in the believer’s life.
When Scripture is not used as the basis for doctrine, error becomes inevitable. People begin to build beliefs on experience, culture, or personal interpretation, and this leads to confusion and weak foundations.
DAILY EXERCISE
Write down one core belief you hold about God. Find at least two Scriptures that support it.
PRAYER
Father, establish me in sound doctrine through Your Word. Let my beliefs be rooted in truth. I pray for believers, leaders, and teachers across Nigeria that they will uphold sound doctrine and teach accurately. Lord, we ask that the Church worldwide be grounded in truth. Remove error and establish clarity across nations.
CONFESSION
I am rooted and grounded in sound doctrine. My beliefs are established on the Word of God.
