Daniel Fast - Awakening to His Reality

DAY 16 OF 21

Let Your Kingdom Come

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
— Matthew 6:10 (ESV)

Have you ever asked yourself: “What does God really desire for His people and His creation—including the earth itself?” To answer this, we must understand God’s will.

Since the fall in Eden, man’s will has been in constant conflict with God’s will. Man’s will says:

  • “I do what I want.”
  • “I decide my truth.”
  • “I want it now.”

Man’s will is self-ruling, self-centered, and self-driven. But God’s will is completely different. God desires that His kingdom be experienced and enjoyed on earth just as it is in heaven.

The Bible describes God’s will in three key ways:

1. God Desires His Kingdom to Be Manifested on Earth

(Matthew 6:10)

God wants the culture of heaven to replace the corrupted culture of earth. The world has welcomed the enemy’s influence—war, hatred, jealousy, division, selfishness, sickness, and addiction.

But the culture of God’s kingdom is filled with:

  • Peace
  • Mercy
  • Humility
  • Unity
  • Healing
  • Prosperity
  • Transformation
  • Redemption
  • Salvation
  • Joy

Wherever His kingdom comes, these realities follow.

2. God Desires All People to Be Saved

“[He] is not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 (ESV)

Imagine a world where everyone comes to the light—true believers and true disciples of Jesus Christ everywhere. This is the Father’s heart.

Jesus illustrated this in the parable of the lost sheep, showing God’s relentless desire to save even one soul.

Every time we share the gospel, make disciples, and reach the lost, we are fulfilling the Father’s will.

3. God Desires Holy and Consecrated Lives

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification…” 1 Thessalonians 4:3 (ESV)

Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). They must be kept holy.

When we allow sin such as sexual immorality, pornography, lust, masturbation, impurity, and indulgence to dominate our lives, we resist the Father’s will. We become like those whose “god is their belly” (Philippians 3:18–21), mere talkers of the kingdom but not true kingdom people.

Surrendering to God’s Will

To see God’s will manifest in our lives and in our broken world, we must totally surrender and obey His instructions.

Jesus Himself modeled surrender at Gethsemane: “Not as I will, but as you will.”Matthew 26:39 (ESV)

Elijah also reached a breaking point—frustrated, discouraged, and exhausted to the point of wanting to die. Yet God strengthened him, fed him, and led him to Horeb, where God revealed His will (1 Kings 19).

Obeying God’s will brings blessing, direction, transformation, and generational impact.

Prayer

“Lord, thank You for revealing Your will. Help me to live it out.
Bend my will and my ego to always respond to Yours in every circumstance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Reflection Questions

  1. Will you allow God’s will to manifest in your life through obedience?
  2. How can you help God’s kingdom come on earth—starting right where you live?
