Leading With Grace: A Journey of Godly Leadership

DAY 2 OF 3

You have heard the calling of God and received the promise that He will be with you, just as He did with Joshua. But where does this journey truly begin?

The answer may not be what we, in our human perspective, wish to hear. There won’t be a specific date or time marked on your calendar; rather, it is rooted in God’s perfect timing, His divine will, and the courage and strength He provides us.

This was true for Joshua. When God called him, He encouraged Joshua to be strong and courageous multiple times (Joshua 1:6-9 NIV). This repetition not only highlighted the challenges that lay ahead but also emphasized Joshua’s ability to inspire confidence in those around him.

However, it’s essential to recognize that Joshua’s strength didn’t arise from his own resilience during tough times; it came from his unwavering faithfulness. He is celebrated for his steadfast belief in God. Together with Caleb, he stood firm in faith, believing that the Israelites could conquer the land of Canaan, despite the giants in their path (Numbers 14:6-9 NIV). Joshua’s faithfulness exemplifies the qualities of a true Godly leader.

When we receive God’s calling, we too must cultivate an unstoppable faith. The journey of being a Godly leader is not always an easy one, and the only foundation strong enough to support us is Jesus Christ and our faith in His promises. Like Joshua, we need to summon all our courage and strength. Open your heart to the workings of the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to guide you in all your endeavors—leading with grace and love.

Godly leadership encompasses more than just guiding people in practical matters, whether in business or as a team leader. It also involves spiritual leadership. Joshua understood the importance of following God's law. He led the people in renewing their covenant with God and reminded them of their commitment to Him (Joshua 24:14-15 NIV). This spiritual guidance was essential for maintaining unity and morale among the Israelites.

We can learn a vital lesson from Joshua: he did not lead with an iron fist, nor did his authority rely on votes or popularity. His leadership was rooted in faith and obedience to God. In our own leadership within God’s kingdom, we are called to emulate the example of Jesus. We must remain committed to the love covenant that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 22, where He instructed us to love God with all our heart, soul, and strength—giving Him our very best—and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Prayer: "Father, I ask that You help us remain faithful to Your covenant of love. Strengthen our faith day by day as You lead us through the Holy Spirit in our hearts. May the fruits of our labor in our calling be pleasing to You. Amen.”

About this Plan

Leading With Grace: A Journey of Godly Leadership

Being a leader called by God does not guarantee an easy path free from challenges. In fact, the opposite is often true. Navigating ethical leadership in a broken world, where many pursue their own agendas, is no simple task. Yet, it is precisely within these challenges that we discover our true strength and purpose.
