Leading With Grace: A Journey of Godly Leadership

DAY 1 OF 3

Being a leader called by God does not guarantee an easy path free from challenges. In fact, the opposite is often true. Navigating ethical leadership in a broken world, where many pursue their own agendas, is no simple task. Yet, it is precisely within these challenges that we discover our true strength and purpose.

To understand what it truly means to be a Godly leader, we can look to one of the great leaders chosen to guide God’s people—Joshua. God called Joshua to step into the monumental role of Moses, who led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and guided them on their arduous journey to the Promised Land (Exodus 1-14 NIV). Imagine the immense weight on Joshua's shoulders as he embraced this responsibility. The fear of inadequacy might have overwhelmed many, perhaps even tempting them to flee like Jonah (Jonah 1 NIV). But Joshua chose a different path. Instead of running away, he turned to God in prayer, seeking guidance and strength to fulfil the calling placed upon him.

In the next three days, we will explore how Joshua grew into the Godly leader that God intended him to be, and we will build our own calling on the same foundation. It is essential to recognize that working in God’s kingdom is not something we undertake by our own strength. God has created each of us for a specific purpose and task. He has intricately woven your body and soul together with intention and love, according to His divine purpose (Psalm 139:13-14 NIV).

Just as God chose Joshua to succeed Moses as the leader of the Israelites, you too are chosen. This is a divine appointment that is not based on your own strength or personal aspirations of leadership. Every leader in God’s kingdom is divinely appointed, called into something greater—a true servant in the kingdom of our heavenly Father (Deuteronomy 31:7-8 NIV).

Joshua’s divine selection signifies God’s trust in his abilities to lead His people into the Promised Land. Today, God seeks to trust you as well. He would not have called you if you were not worthy, if He did not see the immense potential within you. Embrace this call, knowing that you are equipped and empowered to lead with wisdom and grace.

Let us embark on this journey together, drawing inspiration from Joshua's example as we discover how we can fulfil our God-given calling.

Prayer: “Father, we ask that You open our eyes, our ears, and our hearts so that we can clearly hear Your call. Please grant us the strength, courage, and faith to grow each day into the roles You have planned for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
