7 Habits of a Mature Discipleნიმუში

Habit 6: Mature Disciples Share Their Faith Story
I was a pastor who was afraid to share my own faith story outside my church. But God told me I didn’t have a fear problem, I had a compassion problem. And once I was filled with his compassion for the lost, everything changed.
Our own testimony is one of the most powerful tools we have to defeat the devil and to influence our culture for Jesus. As you share it, no one can argue with you, since it’s your own story. Mature disciples are equipped and practice the call to be God’s witness.
Now years later, I’ve found unbelievers are more willing to listen than most Christians are willing to share. Most fears are front-loaded. So once we know how to share our own testimony and then begin, the fears evaporate quickly. Soon we are sharing our own faith story with confidence and compassion.
Once we are equipped in knowing how to share our own story effectively, boldness and compassion grip our hearts. When we actually get to pray for someone to receive Jesus, the euphoria is great.
You can write out your faith story right now. Find a partner and take a twenty-one-day challenge to daily share your faith. Then call or text your partner daily for encouragement.
Christians who share their faith have the heart of Jesus for the lost. Plus as they share, they return to their own first love for Christ. It’s a win-win!
