Day 3 | Filled
Most English translations of the Bible choose one of two words for the final word in Matthew 5:6 – satisfied or filled. Filled things spill. Our desire should be to live so full of Christ that it begins spilling out everywhere that we go. Filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control (see Galatians 5:22-23) to such an extent that everywhere we go they overflow from our lives. God does not desire for you to live on empty or be constantly scraping at the bottom. In him you can live filled.
Prayer: Thank you for filling me today, God. I acknowledge that it is only in you that I find true fulfillment. I don’t want to live empty, I need you. Let my life be full of your good things and help me to share them everywhere that I go. Amen.
