OVERCOME Lust WITH TRUST

DAY 3 OF 5

WEDNESDAY: I AM AN OVERCOMER

Moment of Praise Worship

Read the Word:

  • Romans 6:12-16 (AMP) – Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts. Do not go on offering members of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but offer yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

CONFESSIONS

  • 1 Corinthians 9:27 (NKJV)
  • 1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV)

Paul teaches us that we must not allow sin to reign — to have authority — over our bodies. This means discipline is essential. Bringing our flesh into subjection is a spiritual act of surrender, choosing daily to honor God with our bodies, minds, and desires. The Spirit empowers us to say “no” to the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life.

Being an overcomer is not about never struggling, but about refusing to let sin master us. Through the cross, Christ has already broken sin’s dominion. By living in Him, we walk in continuous victory. Each temptation overcome becomes a testimony of God’s power at work in us.

PRAYER FOCUS

Holy Spirit, I thank You for making me more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. Today, I take authority over every lustful thought, desire, or imagination, and I bring it into obedience to Christ. Fill me with the discipline to keep my body under the control of my spirit, and let my heart burn with love for You above all else. I declare that lust has no hold over me, for Your power gives me strength to walk in freedom, purity, and victory, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
