Don't Let the Bad Days Define You

DAY 3 OF 3

REDEMPTION THAT OUTLIVES YOU

By the final scene of Ruth’s story, Naomi, the same woman who once called herself bitter, is holding a baby. But not just any baby. This is Obed, her grandson. He is the son of Ruth and Boaz. A sign of redemption. A second chance. A fresh start.

But here’s what’s wild:

Obed grows up and becomes the father of Jesse, who becomes the father of King David… Israel’s greatest king.

And more than that?

Jesus Christ Himself would one day come from this very family line.

So track this:

A Moabite widow and a grieving mother-in-law who hit rock bottom… End up becoming part of the lineage of the Messiah.

Let that sink in.

Naomi couldn’t see any of this when she was grieving.

She had no idea that her worst days would become the doorway to God’s greatest story.

That’s what redemption does.

It doesn’t just rescue you. It outlives you.

It blesses the generations after you.

It places your pain inside a much bigger plan.

The story of your life is not over. Your final chapter hasn’t been written yet. God has an incredible plan for your life that will bring good to others and glory to His name.

Don’t let the bad days define you.

Reflection Question:

  • Where might God be using your past pain to plant seeds for a future you can’t even see yet?

About this Plan

Don't Let the Bad Days Define You

What do you do when life falls apart and the pain feels too heavy to carry? In this 3-day devotional, Pastor Bobby Harrell walks through the story of Naomi and Ruth to remind us that even when life feels bitter, God is still at work. Your bad days don’t have to define you… because God can take your deepest sorrow and turn it into a story of redemption and hope. If you’ve ever felt like life hit too hard or your story was over, this plan will help you see that God’s not done yet.
